Many people refer to this terminology when accessing a business idea or plan.

I use this when evaluating an option within the Paintless Dent Removal business, to determine what frankly makes sense when marketing Paintless Dent Removal services.

No, dont doubt me-there is more than ONE niche, and yes Im gonna give up one for you, for free.
No need to buy an Ebook, course, etc etc here. This is gratis info, for the sake of you coming here to simply read this info!

Ok, here goes:
A) Almost all Paintless Dent removal Techs rely on dealers. Avoid the headaches and dont try and get dealers unless you live in an area where dealers are not saturated.
B) If you think you have to have a dealer base, or at least a few, word to the wise: try the smaller wholesale or luxury wholesale dealers..they might be a bit tricky on pay, but they are usually available for the plucking.

So, lets move aside and talk about just one niche people in the Paintless Dent Removal world neglect: Lease Returns.

The lease return market/niche is ripe for the picking. You can find these people through your local dealers, or advertise for them. How do I know? I do abouit 5-15 lease return customers almost weekly, and that is easy money. They DONT want to spend bodyshop money to remove damage, they hate the idea of paying money to the bank when they are losing the car shortly, so we come in, fix the dents and other minro damage for fractions on the dollar, make them happy and they are down the road.

Lease returns..you wont regret it.

Im not going to say I have either, but I darn well sure know I dont have part A of the equation, or I would be swinging the bat at this moment for the PDR Fence and trying to go yard with a PDR Retail homer.

The Only company to my knowledge is Dent Wizard, (aka Dead Lizard), but they fell flat on their faces. They tried to do an Ihop style retail look, spent some money, and the stores went poo-poo all across the great USA.

Why?

A) They had the cash, man, Im tellin ya.

B) If you look at the above equation, maybe they were missing part B.
I guarantee it WAS part B they missed (and luckily, still miss).
A bunch of Cox Comm corporate brass have NO idea about the art and savoifaire of PDR and will never get it, thankfully. So, as of this writing, no one else has the cash to get it going.

Oh yeah, Dent Pro tried to do a California semi retail campaign through AAA (auto Club). Did it work? Ill let you figure it out… >:)

So here we are boys-no one can figure out what to do to get retail customers.
Everyone has tried flyers (doesntwork)
Everyone has thought about radio (doesntwork)
” ” Cable TV (doesntwork)
etc etc.

So, if retail is huge, but unmarketable, what next?

Easy.

Go to the customers who actually WANT PDR, on a high probability scale.
Are they car wash customers? Heck no. Cheap Bastards (like me) wont even drop a dime to have a dent removed..they want their car washed for $8.95, not 80.95 like a detailer might do.

Blues Clue #2: DETAIL customers are almost ALWAYS PDR customers.

So, with that, you market to the detailing customer, and voila, you have PDR customers.
Yes, it IS that easy.
BUT, those customers initially WANT DETAILING. So either coop with a detailer (good one, kid, not some POS (peice of shi*), or do it yourself.

IF DW and DP had offered/led with detailing, and then marketed recon services above and over the tops of the customers heads, they would be reaping huge rewards as we speak. Glad they didnt though!

So, now that we have established that these Paintless Dent Removal babies are big, lets get to how you can remove them without fear of losing a limb, or life.

Step one:
You WILL need the following:
A) Heat gun
B) Tap downs (soft and sharp)
C) Tools with rubber tips
D) baseball
E) Golf ball
F) Suction cup
G) Large, blunt tip tools

OK- depending on the location of your BIGGGGGGG Dent, our focus and strategy will depend on what method and starting point we will go with for our Paintless Dent Repair for big dents.

OPEN Panel (quarter panel, roof, fender, etc)
IF you can get your hand or large object (Baseball, golfball etc etc) on the dent, you want to use THE LARGEST SURFACE AREA first to start to remove the dent.
Do NOT, I AM SAYING DOOOO NOT put a PDR tool on the dent first. Why? a small metal tip will turn your paintless dent repair into a paintless dent done wrong repair. Period end of paragraph..

SO, that being said, start by working your dent with a large, blunt object until the dent is either sectioned off into very small sub-dents no larger that a half dollar, or smaller. Once again, YOU MAY BE PRONE TO PUTTING A PDR ROD ONTO THE DENT NOW..Do NOT until the dent is small and READY for a PDR Tool.

Why?
IF YOU LIKE PORCUPINES, PIMPLE FACED METAL, CHICKEN-POX PAINT, etc, go ahead. IF you are trying to remotely retain the proper texture of the paint finish, start blunt, then eventually go with smaller tips. You can use rubber tips, taped large blunt tips etc, but do not go with a rat or blade style tool if it can be avoided (proper access).

Why a heat gun?
HEAT, when properly used (see us for a class sonny if you dont know how to use heat)
will soften paint and make it less prone to spider and crack. When to use you ask?When you big daddy dent is near or through a bodyline or panel edge or curved bodyline (see Ford Taurus for example).

So, use the heat as you know how and soften the paint to eliminate paint spidering when the potential exists.

OK- If you do NOT have good access:
Try using a suction cup or LARGE glue puller head to shrink and remove the majority of the dent, then come back with something smaller to finish. Do not use a sharp tool simply because a brace or other obstruction precludes you from getting to the big boy. Paintless Dent repair offers you options..use them to get results that pros get. Never settle for less with your paintless dent removal repairs!!

You mean some idiot from Hickville USA, with no education, no college degree, no long term education of any sort can knock out millions?

REALLY??

Yes, really. AND, its not all that uncommon.

Lets examine the sitch more closely, shall we?

A Million dollareenies. Out of a 5 day work week, working 52 weeks a year (assuming they did this, which most do NOT!).. that would equate to 260 working days. Divide that number by 1 MILLION DOLLARS, and you get $3846.15 daily. That means, to generate 1 MIL annually, working every week day, you would need to hit $3850 a day.

Thats about what many take home monthly, huh.?
So, figure that is the difference between Joe Average and Joe PDR millionaire.

Ok-we havent really learned anything new yet, right?
Right. Lets peel this onion and see what is in the inner layers..its bound to get juicy (and maybe make a few of your eyes water out there..)

1) Most Paintless Dent Removal Techs dont hit $3850 a day. Most would be happy to hit $1000.00 daily, and there are a good number across the states who do just that. Some auction techs hit $2000-$3000 daily. Most of them work for DW., and a few are self employed (rare though!).

So, how about the others?

OK- LETS say that YOU are a Paintless Dent Removal Tech. You sell a dealer with damage to 800 cars. The average repair for the cars is $1500.00
That measures out to:1.2 MILLION DOLLARS. Nice, huh? And chances are, unless the dealer is self insured, the insurance company is footing the bill, not the dealer.
All the better..

So, does the one tech who sold the job get all the dough? No, probably not, unless he’s a madman and can mash cars like no other and do em all in 30 days or less (unlikely). More likely, he sold the job and is getting 40-50% of the gig, plus any work he pushes out himself. So he might net 600k, but that is likely the high end of the scale. He may have some other costs (kickbacks to the dealer, lodging, etc) but he will probably net out at least 400k.

So, 400k in 1-2 months. Not too shabby, Scooby.
So what if he did this, lets say, 2-3 times in a year (not all that uncommon my friend).
Even if he only got $200k per sale…thats $600,000.00 net. And probably not a 12 month proposition. My buddys who do this seem to get it done in 6-8 months, not 12. They even get BORED after their year is up-too much time at home with the wives…
Oh yeah..lets say you dont have the chutspah to go out and close a dealer deal for 1M+..what then>? You get on the other side of the equation (the 50-60% side)_ and push metal. PDR Hail techs average 50-70% of the bill, and usually get over $1000.00 daily. That, times 260 days (if you worked year round) is $260,000.00 also!!
I would estimate most hail techs are in the 150-$175k range..they dont like to work year round…unless they are preparing to retire (see Rick Hummert..)<- phenomenal Hail Tech!>>>

So, lets recap:
A) Organize and sell Hail= become millionaire

or

B) WORK for the Hail Organizer and see six figs.
Either can be done, all you need to do is apply yourself
